Preserving a Racing Legacy, Building a Future
Preserving History
For decades, Gas City Speedway has been a cornerstone of Indiana dirt track racing, bringing together racers, fans, and families for unforgettable Friday night battles on the bullring. Legendary events like USAC Midget Week, Indiana Sprint Week, and the James Dean Classic have cemented its place in motorsports history.
But now, this track’s future is uncertain.
In 2024, Gas City Speedway sat silent. Despite efforts from experienced promoters and racing professionals to lease the track, all proposals were rejected. Without action, this historic venue risks being permanently lost, taking with it the memories, opportunities, and economic impact that have defined it for generations.

Why This Matters
Why This Matters 🏁
A Home for Racing Fans & Drivers – Gas City Speedway has provided one of the most exciting dirt track experiences in the Midwest, giving local and national racers a place to compete, develop, and make history.
🏁 A Boost for Local Businesses – Every race night brings revenue to restaurants, hotels, and small businesses in Gas City and the surrounding area. Losing the track means losing a vital economic engine.
🏁 A Piece of Indiana History – Dirt track racing is deeply rooted in Indiana’s motorsports culture. Gas City Speedway isn’t just a racetrack—it’s a piece of that heritage.
If this track disappears, it won’t come back.
